SUMMARY:Family Fishing Basics
DESCRIPTION:Learn about the different kinds of fish in Iowa\, fishing safety\, casting\, and how to tie a hook. It is Free Fishing Weekend in Iowa so no license in needed. Bait and poles will be provided. Feel free to bring a chair to sit in. Participants can fish from an accessible fishing dock or natural shoreline. Adaptive fishing equipment will be available for individuals that may have difficulties sustaining grasp on a fishing pole. \n  \nPolk County Conservation strives to host welcoming\, accessible programs and events that enable all individuals to participate. At Athene North Shore Recreation Area\, our focus on universally designed spaces and programming empowers individuals of all abilities to connect with nature. We offer a variety of adaptive outdoor recreation equipment and design our programs with diverse needs in mind.
