Everyone has the opportunity to soak in all the fun at Athene North Shore. Jump or wade into the lake at your own pace, or simply hang out on the beach. There are also pontoon rides for all ages and paddling experiences for all abilities. It’s all here for you to explore.
Getting in and out of the water is easier and less stressful with a zero-entry ramp. Located on the west side of the beach, the ramp provides a firm, supportive surface and gradual transition in and out of the water for individuals who may require more support when walking on uneven surfaces. It’s also useful for individuals who benefit from the use of a mobility device.
Trek across the sand, no matter your ability. Our Access Trax access accessible beach mat creates a flat, stable surface on top of the sand for users who’d like to experience a fun-filled day on the beach.
Ready to paddle? Whether you’re bringing your own kayak, stand-up paddleboard, or canoe, or you rent one here, everyone can take advantage of North Shore’s accessible canoe and kayak launch. It’s equipped with a transfer bench system, rollers, and guide rails to make boarding, launching, and recovery safe and accessible for all park users.
Fish are plentiful at Athene North Shore Recreation Area at Easter Lake. Now, everyone can try their skill at catching them. An accessible fishing dock is located west of North Shore on Shoreline Road.
Don’t have your own gear? Don’t worry! Fishing rods and adaptive fishing gear are available to rent. Anglers can also purchase bait at concessions.
Take a relaxing cruise around the lake on a pontoon boat ride. Our custom boat is designed to accommodate park users of all abilities. The traditional, rotating pontoon seats can be removed, making room for wheelchairs to be secured. The 24-foot boat accommodates up to eight passengers, plus a driver.
Want to try a new water sport or enjoy a water activity but need equipment? We can help. Athene North Shore offers standard and adaptive recreational equipment rentals, including canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, water wheelchairs, and more at the Concession Building.
